Building a photovoltaic business

You can install photovoltaics. But can you run a photovoltaic company?

Technical skill is the foundation. A working photovoltaic company also needs a clear process from the first enquiry to service.

The job does not start on the roof

If you are an electrician, schematics, switchboards, measurements and electrical equipment may not be the hardest part. Then the customer asks why you chose this system, what it will cost, when it will be installed and what happens if something stops working. At that point, being a good electrician is no longer enough.

First understand the real need. One customer wants a lower bill, another wants backup during an outage, and another is planning an electric car or battery. Only then does it make sense to discuss specific equipment.

Survey, design and offer

Looking at the roof is not enough. Check where the equipment will go, how the switchboard is arranged, where cables will run and what else can affect the design. A good offer is a continuation of the technical design, not aggressive selling.

The customer should understand what they are buying, what is included and why the solution fits. If a competitor is cheaper, compare the scope first, not only the final number.

A company does not end with installation

After installation come service, monitoring, customer questions and warranty claims. This is where reputation is built: not by what a company writes on its website, but by what its customers say about it.

That is why SolarX Academy covers the whole process: first enquiry, survey, offer, installation, handover and ongoing care.

You know the technical work. Now build the system around it

You may already understand electricity very well. The next question is whether you can turn that knowledge into a repeatable service and a functioning photovoltaic company.
